Ryan Butterfield is the Vice-President of CfCB, Inc. and a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC). He received a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Harding University and began working as a full-time therapist at Capstone Treatment Center in 2008. Capstone is a Christ-centered, dual-diagnosis; residential treatment center for males ages 14-24 struggling with addiction. Along with treating chemical dependency issues, Ryan has a specialization in sexual addiction (CSAT IV) and is one of the few certified sexual addiction therapists who is producing materials addressing sexual addiction and compulsion in adolescents and teens. Butterfield is a member of the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) and holds a specialization in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR II), a leading form of therapy addressing trauma.
His passion is helping people better understand sexual addiction and in helping them find freedom from addiction and the shame it brings. His philosophy is that real freedom is provided through God. He is the author of various articles on sexual addiction and has been published in Think Magazine and The Christian Chronicle, and featured in Searcy Living, a regional magazine in White County, Arkansas. In addition to being a Licensed Therapist and author, Ryan is a sought after speaker in a variety of venues.
Ryan is married to Paula Alig Butterfield who is also a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and works in community mental health. The couple has three children, Samuel, Jack, and Vivian and attend the Downtown church in Searcy, Arkansas. Ryan and Paula spent two years on the mission field in Italy and are both dedicated to helping bring those who are hurting to Christ. For a number of years the couple was on the overseas mission committee of the College church in Searcy.
Prior to moving to Italy, Ryan owned and operated, The Big Ragoo, an upscale Italian restaurant in Searcy. For many years Ryan worked in the family firework business and is now a co-owner of the business along with his wife Paula.
